The Whole Story ...

Born in New Haven Connecticut, Jennifer Juniper, along with her older sister and parents, made their way to Toronto to escape inclusion in the Vietnam War. Living near the beaches, they befriended some neighbors with like minds and a vision: to move to the West Coast, find a chunk of land and live off it. So on a whim in mid-winter, three families, with five kids, two dogs and at least five cats, packed up their belongings and headed west in a beat-up station wagon with a U-haul in tow. They ended up on Vancouver Island on 14 acres of woods in the middle of nowhere. Growing up with cats, dogs, chickens, goats, horses and many more furry and feathered creatures, Jennifer has a huge love and respect for all animals, still believing to this day that animals are far superior to most humans.

Jennifer started school in grade three after her sister decided to go to school to make new friends. She did not want to be left behind so they trundled off to school ten miles away. It was a rough start considering they were the 'dirty little hippie girls' at the end of the road. But they prevailed, both skipping grades and excelling in all aspects of school.

By grade 11, Jennifer was bored and looked elsewhere for fun. She found that at the community theatre where she appeared in every play for the next two years. Towards the end of grade 12, a children's theatre group came through her school, and she asked one of the actors about theatre training in Vancouver. He told about her Studio 58, and the day after graduation, she packed her stuff, grabbed her cat, and went to Vancouver where she auditioned and was accepted into Studio 58.

After graduating two years later, Jennifer got her first professional gig with the very same theatre troupe that toured her high school 3 years prior. She has been working steadily since in TV, film and theatre, with breaks for travel and life excursions. Jennifer plans to bike around the world, but she will gladly start off with a short trip through Europe. Along with travel, Jennifer is excited about producing her and partner Peter's projects, and plans to include animals in her work, whether in a documentary or in fulfilling a dream of hers: to make a movie about the Wild West… with many horses of course. Jennifer Juniper lives happily with Peter, her sweet dog friend Ruin and the everlasting vision of palm trees and hot sun.
